The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the cause of a fire that sank a 48-foot yacht in the Hudson River on Saturday afternoon. A good Samaritan boater rescued all seven occupants from the craft, which caught fire in the waters between West New York and 72nd Street in Manhattan, New York at about 3:30 p.m., Coast Guard Petty Officer Ryan Shultz said.
The passengers were later put on an NYPD boat and brought to Chelsea Piers, Shultz said. No injuries were reported. Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
