The swimmer's condition was not immediately clear.
A good Samartian boogie boarder was able to rescue a distressed swimmer Tuesday afternoon in Seaside Park, police said.
The 81-year-old man was swimming about 200 yards out in the water near the O Street beach and began drifting out to the Stockton Avenue beach, which is about four blocks north,The boogie boarder spotted him, grabbed him and put him on his board so he wouldn’t go underwater, Casole said. A water rescue team from Seaside Heights arrived and brought him the rest of the way to the shore on jet ski, he said. The man was semi-conscious when he was taken out of the water and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Casole said he did not immediately know the man’s condition. No other information was immediately available.
