Golden Knights’ Alex Pietrangelo suspended one game for slash on Leon Draisaitl
Vegas Golden Knights defenceman Alex Pietrangelo has been suspended one game by the NHL.
Pietrangelo is being punished for slashing Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl during Game 4 of their playoff series on Wednesday. The incident occurred at 18:29 of the third period and Pietrangelo was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct on the play. Pietrangelo was suspended hours after Oilers defenceman Darnell Nurse was banned for a game for instigating a fight in the final five minutes of regulation time in Edmonton’s 4-1 win over Vegas on Wednesday.
Nurse was assessed a minor penalty for instigating, a major penalty for fighting and a 10-minute misconduct for instigating following a fight with Knights defenceman Nicolas Hague at 19:10 of the third period.
