.Glossier will continue to compensate retail employees through late April. 🔐

Emily Weiss has extended her commitment to pay Glossier’s retail workers despite the temporary closure of the company’s stores.

“As a first-time ceo, I’m always trying to decipher what I know and don’t know, what a spreadsheet says and what instinctively feels right, but as you well know, these are unparalleled circumstances,” Weiss wrote in a Glossier blog post.

Glossier’s New York City flagship, which opened in 2018, is said to draw nearly 2,000 people from around the world daily. Weiss acknowledged in her blog post that closing this store — as well as the Los Angeles, London and Atlanta locations — will “sacrifice some near-term business goals, but we’re prepared to put public health ahead of our bottom line.”
