The Knot, WeddingWire, Hitched and Bodas.net teamed up to learn how couples across 15 countries feel most appreciated by their partners — and how they met. In total more than 15,000 couples participated in the survey.In 14 out of 15 countries surveyed, spending quality time together was the most important factor in making couples feel appreciated. There were notable differences across Europe. Six in ten couples in Portugal feel most appreciated when their partner spends quality time with them, but couples in France valued it much lower.Brazilians Value Doing Something Nice or Helpful British couples are among the least likely to value physical affection , but ranked second for appreciating the words “I love you.”Couples in Canada, UK and US Most Likely to Meet Online

In Western Europe, France ranked highest for meeting online , while in nearby Italy a notably smaller 8% met online., couples say they were most likely to meet their partner through friends in common. Italians are most likely to rely on friends while Canadians are least likely .In South American countries Colombia, Peru and Mexico, at least one quarter say they met their partner through work.
