Actor to be honored ahead of Austin premiere of Hit Man
, the new true crime flick from Richard Linklater. The actor and writer will be inducted by Linklater into the Texas Film Hall of Fame at the movie's Austin premiere on May 15, ahead of a special Toast to Texas Film the following night.The biggest night in Texas film is about to honor one of its fastest rising talents.
Normally, the Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place the Thursday before South by Southwest, but Austin Film Society deferred the big party to coincide with the local premiere for what looks set to the biggest Austin film of the year:, starring Powell, directed by Richard Linklater. Powell will be inducted by the director as part of a very special screening of the Netflix original at the Paramount Theatre on May 15, ahead of its streaming debut on Netflix on June 7.
The night after that screening, May 16, there will be a special event, A Toast to Texas Film: Honoring Glen Powell.
