Clear Lake surges past Elsik in girls soccer playoffs
Clear Lake's Eden Fuentes is challenged by Alief Elsik's Margarita Baltazar Thursday at Challenger Columbia Stadium.A two-goal halftime lead would be encouraging in most soccer circles, but when Clear Lake head coach Lisa Manis delivered her speech at intermission, it was short on compliments.
“It’s better than scoring 10 goals and not playing our game. When we let that goal score before half, we anticipated her being mad.” Senior Addison Heausler, sophomore Ellie Morgan and sophomore Jordyn Williams provided that barrage of goals which opened a 6-1 cushion.
