On Friday, February 21, Donatella Versace sent her Fall/Winter 2020 collection down the runway — a mix of flashy partywear, angular menswear, and sporty looks — but despite the bright colors and extravagant metallics, what really caught our eyes was the hair. It starts out with slick, side-parted ponies like several styles seen at other Fashion Month shows, but it differs with the addition of short, stiff, side-swept bangs.
Part of what makes the bangs so buzzworthy is that they were seen on supermodels who, just hours or days earlier, didn't have them. Both Gigi and Bella Hadid wore fringe that dipped down from their deeply parted ponytails and slightly obscured their right eyebrows. Kaia Gerber, whose wet-look bob wasn't in a ponytail, had more sparse pieces barely covering her forehead. Kendall Jenner's were the longest bangs of the bunch — not to mention the most realistic-looking.
But whether or not the fringe is the real deal, the look is nothing short of inspiration to make everyone who sees them ponder getting bangs themselves.
