Marriott has more than 7,000 hotels in 131 countries under 30 brands, including SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn, Sheraton, and Ritz-Carlton, and with this move, they will be getting rid of 500 million small bottles each year, or 1.7 million pounds of plastic. President and CEO Arne Sorenson pointed out that the bottles are in abundance, and nearly impossible to recycle because they need to be cleaned out.
