Republican state senators in Georgia asked a newly created board overseeing the state’s district attorneys to investigate Democratic Fulton County DA Fani Willis, theMonday, asking for the board to sanction Willis after she indicted former President Donald Trump and 18 of his allies.
”lawmakers’ efforts to punish Willis, saying he doesn’t believe the prosecutor did anything illegal by bringing charges against Trump. “I haven’t seen anything that she has done that has broken the law or the procedures that we have. And I’ve been very honest with people about that,” Kemp told the. “It may be a political action she’s taken in some ways, with timing and other things, but it doesn’t mean it’s illegal.

Georgia will take new applications for housing subsidy vouchers in 149 countiesGeorgians in 149 counties can soon apply for housing subsidies for the first time since 2021. The Georgia Department of Community Affairs says it will take online applications for its Housing Choice Voucher program from Oct. 17 through Oct. 20. The program, formerly known as Section 8, provides money to low-income families to rent an apartment or house. Spokesperson Kristen Moses says the state is seeking to enroll 5,000 applicants. The agency placed 633 applicants in the 2021-2022 budget year.
