George Miller confirms next Mad Max film is a Furiosa prequel — without Charlize Theron
that he's developing a long-rumored standalone movie focusing on Furiosa, but the 44-year-old Theron won't be reprising her role.
Instead, the new film is envisioned as a prequel exploring Furiosa's history, and the director is currently looking to cast an actress in her 20s. Three Thousand Years of Longing"So after we finish it, and hopefully everything settles down with the pandemic, we'll see what the world allows us to do with Furiosa," Miller said.
