The protests are the result of ‘generations of pain, of anguish’ over racism in policing, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz says
The National Guard and joint forces are calling for peace as unrest continues in Minneapolis for a fourth day following the police killing of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man.
On Thursday night, other buildings in the area around the police department were also burning, stores were looted and skirmishes broke out as thousands of people poured into the streets. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said the unrest that has destabilized Minneapolis and nearby St. Paul this week is the result of ‘generations of pain, of anguish’ over racism in policing.
