This is a high-performance GV60 concept that is very, very orange.
The Genesis brand is still pretty new, having spun off Hyundai only a few years ago, and now it's following in the footsteps of the more established luxury makes it's trying to elbow its way in with and chasing the luxury performance market with a sporty sub-brand. At a private event held just a few days before the 2024 New York auto show, Genesis revealed its new “Magma program.
Besides the retina-burning color, other major exterior changes include a lower and wider stance with the help of some fender flares and apparent suspension work. You’ll also notice that the front fascia has a redesigned air dam, though it appears that it has the same integrated front splitter as the vanilla GV60.
Following along the silhouette, a set of fins are found on the roof, which are undoubtedly there to provide an aerodynamic advantage over the base model. Or to just look cool, either way. The side view mirrors have been replaced with cameras that appear to have an air-cutting outer shell. A color matched rear spoiler and diffuser finish off the Magma GV60’s aggressive aerodynamic styling.
The interior features napa leather upholstery along with some bits of alcantara and color-matched seatbacks along with color-matched double-diamond stitching. You’ll also notice a screen sitting atop of the passenger door panel that is what we suspect is a live feed from the exterior side view cameras.Technically, The GV60 Magma is still a concept, so Genesis hasn’t given us any information about performance other than saying it will have “improved battery and motor technology.
