Navy SEALs getting sick, additional sewage line ruptures, and RECORD CLOSURES for over 200 days near the border -- our beaches need help, and Gavin Newsom just VETOED FUNDS. More info:

SAN DIEGO – Governor Gavin Newsom has vetoed a bill that would have given $100 million to state water resources, half of which would have gone to cleaning up the disaster that is the Imperial Beach ocean or “Tijuana sewage crisis” affecting miles and miles of waterways and beaches near the San Diego southern border.

A string of beach closures over the summer raised popular concern regarding California’s relationship with Tijuana and the Mexican city’s inadequate sewage. Within the last few days, another sewage spill has led to an additional closure. This news came hand-in-hand with Newsom’s veto of the clean-up funds.

Newsom’s defense is that the state has been facing lower than normal revenues, which requires tightening the budget. KUSI’s Jenny Milkowski was joiend by Mayor Serge Dedina of Imperial Beach to discuss his disgust and disappointment with the Governor.
