McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy and a former Liberal MP, stated that abolishing both the first and second carbon tax es would lead to an immediate reduction of approximately 22 cents per litre. He further explained that a Conservative government could strengthen the Canadian dollar against the U.S.

dollar, potentially saving consumers another 10 to 15 cents per litre due to the pricing of commodities like gasoline in U.S. dollars. McTeague believes this could result in a total reduction of up to 30 cents per litre for gasoline and diesel if the Conservatives form the next government
