It wasn\u0027t the prettiest game the Senators have ever played, but it looked pretty good when the final buzzer sounded as the club was able to score a 4\u002D1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres in front of 13,558 at the CTC.
Captain Brady Tkachuk, along with Tim Stutzle, Austin Watson and Alex DeBrincat, did the scoring while Anton Forsberg had a strong effort by making big saves at key times to help the club book the victory.
The Senators came into this game with losses in eight of their last nine games, but DeBrincat’s fifth of the season with 6:39 left in the third with a blast by Anderson to give the club a two-goal lead put this one away. For those disappointed Anderson didn’t start for the Sabres, they got their chance to see him midway through the second period. He took over when starter Comrie took a hit from Joseph and didn’t return to the game.
Tkachuk’s at 9:57 of the second, not long after Comrie appeared to suffer a knee injury after Joseph crashed the crease, gave Ottawa the lead. He was able to tap a rebound off the back boards by Comrie with a backhand. The Sabres tied it up on their sixth power play of the game. Tage Thompson tied it up 1-1 by firing a one-timer by Forsberg at 6:41 of the second. You could feel this one coming because Ottawa had given the Sabres far too many opportunities.Article content
