Located on the campus of Arizona State University, Mullet Arena is only a 5,000-seat facility so it’s fair to say Kastelic may have his own cheering section. He’ll have more than 30 family and friends in the stands, along with countless others he met along the way in his journey to the NHL. Ed will be in the rink with Kastelic’s mother, Susan, along with his sister and her family, who are making the short trip to Arizona from Las Vegas.
“It’s definitely really cool. I know it’s not necessarily known for hockey, but it makes it even more special to go through the minor hockey programs and make it to junior and pro now,” Kastelic said. The Coyotes have done a good job helping to make sure there’s a footprint and a development program in the market.
“It’s good to see the growth over the last few years. There’s been more and more kids coming out of Arizona and Phoenix. There’s going to be more. I know there’s a lot of kids playing junior, college and some pro guys that will have a chance to make it.Article content
