Representatives of the four divisions play a three-on-three round-robin tournament, then play off against each other to determine the winner. There’s no hitting, but you do get to see skill on display.
This is the first time Tkachuk has been named to the starting roster. He was a replacement at St. Louis in 2020 and last year at Las Vegas he took the roster spot left vacant after Senators winger Drake Batherson sprained an ankle. “A lot of guys deserve to go, but, like I said, I wouldn’t be in this position without great teammates. Last year, Drake deserved to go and it was just an unfortunate injury, and the time before it was so last-minute going home . It’s nice, but a lot of guys deserve it.”Centre Shane Pinto stood up in the dressing room and told everybody he thought he deserved the all-star selection, but was happy to see Tkachuk make the trip.
