RCMP have arrested and charged a man in connection to an alleged indecent act committed against a young person in Gander.

Police say that on September 22 a child, who was walking home from school, was approached by a man driving a red Dodge Journey. The man, who was reportedly naked from the waist down, invited the child to enter the vehicle. The child ran away and reported the incident.He has been charged with invitation to sexual touching, indecent act , and exposing genitals for a sexual purpose to a person under the age of 16.The RCMP is encouraging parents to speak to their children about such incidents, and anyone who feels they have been victimized by such a crime is asked to contact police.
