Game of Thrones writers are in hot water over some of Sansa Stark's lines
Game Of Thrones fans are not impressed with writers after Sansa Stark said her sexual abuse and rape made her stronger.
In the most recent season eight episode The Last Of The Starks, Sansa reunited with The Hound , who said he was angry he didn’t save her from her abusers.Unsurprisingly fans hit back at this particular scene and scorned writers David Benioff and D. B. Weiss on Twitter, writing: ‘It’s several hours later and I’m still so f***** mad that D&D made Sansa say that repeated sexual trauma was the only thing that made her strong.
‘Sansa was always strong. Trauma made her practical – and cynical. And these men are so bad at writing women.’The viewer continued: ‘Nothing screams “a man wrote this” like a woman speaking the words “if it weren’t for all my abusers and rapists I would’ve been weak.”‘ ‘As happy as i am with Sansa’s development throughout this series, I do have a problem with the way the writers keep pushing the narrative that a character has to go through something like rape and abuse to grow and develop,’ added another.Echoing a similar sentiment, a third slammed: ‘You can so tell it was a man that wrote the Hound & Sansa scene. It was awful.The show has received much criticism in the past over how it has dealt with sex.
