Blue Jays (22-26) vs Tigers (23-26)
After last night’s win finally ended the Blue Jays’ drought of not winning a series, they hit the road to take on the Tigers, looking to extend that streak as they open up a four game series in Detroit. Gametime tonight is a bit earlier than normal, set to get underway at 6:40 ET. Kevin Gausman gets the ball for the Jays, looking to get back in the win column after a couple of winless starts in his last two outings. On the season Gausman is 2-3 with a 4.89 ERA over 42.1 innings.
If he is back in the lineup tonight, I would expect to see him back there again. Bo Bichette had another big night last night, and despite a few 0fers mixed in the last few games, is hitting .366/.422/.610 across 45 plate appearances over the last two weeks. Much like the Blue Jays, the Tigers are struggling to score runs this year. Their 4.12 runs/game isn’t quite as bad as the Jays’ 3.79 mark, but it is still well below average.
