Riley Gaines’s new podcast, Gaines for Girls, debuts Wednesday morning, detailing the 43-year trek of transgender athletes infiltrating women’s sports.

Gaines was joined by Sharon Davies, who won a silver medal for Great Britain in the 400-meter individual medley at the 1980 Moscow Olympics in the first episode of the OutKick podcast. They discussed how Davies experienced biological men, who identified as female, compete on the international stage and “smash world records.”

“We would have East German athletes turning up to things like ... the Olympics, and we'd never ever seen them before, and they would literally arrive and smash world records,” Davies told Gaines. “They looked and sounded ... very masculine. They had deep voices, very large Adam's apple, bad skin — through no fault of their own. I've never had a problem with these individuals. They were pawns of a horrible system.

Davies said she blamed the International Olympic Committee, which allowed male athletes to compete in women’s events. “This was allowed to go on for two decades. So imagine the number of females that missed that,” Davies said. “However, those females only missed that at international competitions, only predominantly missed out in swimming, track and field, and rowing. What we've got now is 10 times worse because this is happening across every single sport at every single level in every single country.
