'Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue confirmed the remains are those of Gabrielle Venora Petito, date of birth March 19, 1999,' FBI Denver wrote in a tweet.
On Sunday, the FBI said a body was found in Wyoming's Spread Creek area that was"consistent" with the 22-year-old Petito.
"Earlier today, human remains were discovered, consistent with a description of Gabrielle 'Gabby' Petito. Full forensic identification has not been completed to confirm 100 percent that we found Gabby, but her family has been notified of this discovery. The cause of death has not been determined at this time," Charles Jones, FBI Denver's supervisory senior resident agent, said at a press conference.
Petito was first reported missing on September 11 by her parents but her last communication with her family occurred during the last week of August. Petito and her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, were on a cross-country road trip that left from Long Island, New York on July 2.
