Visitors to the Every Child’s Playground, 36265 Detroit Road, Avon, will notice new functional art pieces throughout the park. Last week the donor and manufacturer formally presented the pieces to city officials.
Representatives from Canvus, PPG Industries, and Avon Mayor Bryan Jensen show off the Deborah Cove bench at the Every Child's Playground in Avon.Each piece was handcrafted in Avon at the 110,000 sq-ft Canvus manufacturing facility on Moore Road. Two of the pieces were painted by local Cleveland artists Lisa Quine and Lacy Talley. Each product includes a QR code that people can scan to learn more about the Canvus product, why PPG donated them, and the latest information from the city.
“We are thankful to our wonderful partner and donor PPG for making this donation a reality,” said Parker Kowalski, Canvus managing director of brand. “We are so pleased to be working with a company that shares in our mission of amplifying public spaces. Thank you to the City of Avon for accepting these pieces. LCCC’s Automation Engineering Technology Maintenance/Repair Program trains students to repair, troubleshoot, and maintain automated equipment such as robots and computer numerical control machines, according to information submitted in a press release. The Automation Engineering Technologies Systems Specialist Program focuses on the engineering, programming, and integration of advanced technologies for systems integration.
