“It feels great, particularly when you have to take the route that we’ve played. We played three tough, really fine football teams who have great championship pedigree of their own,” Smithson Valley coach Larry Hill said.Two turnovers on Fulshear’s first two drives set up a quick start for the Rangers. Senelik threw his first touchdown pass of the game to Cole Freund, who caught it and took it 32 yards to the end zone. Quentin Sampson caught Senelik’s second touchdown pass — a 37-yard score.
The Chargers, though, put together a 16-play drive and rushed into the end zone off an 8-yard carry from Calvion Hunter. The failed 2-point conversion made the score 21-6 at halftime.
