Who could be Tyson Fury's next opponent?
WWE may not hold genuine fights but the next time we see Fury in a ring could well be of the wrestling variety. The WWE stages its biggest UK event in 30 years outdoors in Cardiff in September, Fury has previous in WWE and he has already
. Chairman Vince McMahon will have loved the ring entrance, and the 94,000 fans, at the Whyte fight – frankly only one ‘Beast Incarnate’ stops this bout being absolutely nailed-on…Far be it from us to tell McMahon how to do his job, but if he wants to add genuine crossover appeal to his WWE event in Cardiff, the answer is not to match Fury against Drew McIntyre . It is to call up Brock Lesnar and have him face Fury in a dream UFC/boxing showdown.
Summer’s ‘Joe-off’ is a terrific heavyweight clash and yet the winner seems an unlikely Fury foe. But hear us out. Fury getting the itch to return to the ring later this year would be no surprise and there’s equally no guarantee that the Usyk-Joshua II victor will be ready. A nasty cut or a brutal fight would delay things until 2023, while a draw or a controversial decision could even mean Usyk-Joshua III first.
