SYDNEY, N.S. — Stefanie Ruel took longer than usual to mark the exams for the human resources management class she gave to students in 2023.

"It was really an exercise in getting the students to calm down and reach deep into their own self-worth and self-confidence to share a story," said Ruel, a former space life sciences mission manager who has a doctor in business administration. "I immediately think I wanted to write about my mother because she has been a constant inspiration for me since I was a kid," said Oktoria, who hasn't published anything before.

Not all of the authors in the book are female, like Mehedi Hasan Robin from Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladeshi. He wrote about a business mentor, who he first met when he took training she was providing. Along with practical lessons for doing his job, Robin said she taught him how to become a professional.
