Freshman RepRobertGarcia is urging SpeakerMcCarthy to remove RepMTG from all her committee assignments, arguing she poses a threat to national security. In a letter to McCarthy, Garcia blasted Greene's history of “extremist and dangerous statements.”
In a letter sent to McCarthy on Tuesday, Garcia blasted the firebrand Republican for her history of “extremist and dangerous statements,” calling on Greene to resign from her high-profile committee assignments. If she doesn’t, he said, McCarthy should unilaterally remove her.
"Jake Teixeira is white, male, christian, and antiwar. That makes him an enemy to the Biden regime," Greene said in a tweet. “Ask yourself who is the real enemy? A young low level national guardsmen? Or the administration that is waging war in Ukraine, a non-NATO nation, against nuclear Russia without war powers?"
Garcia denounced Greene, arguing her comments prove she is not capable of serving on such influential committees as the Committee on Homeland Security.“She has not proved herself worthy of these responsibilities. It is clear that she should not serve on any committee, let alone those responsible for the national security of the United States,” Garcia wrote in his letter. “She is a threat to our national security.
Greene was previously removed from her committee assignments in the last Congress after making statements that she wanted to harm other House lawmakers. However, Greene was given top committee assignments earlier this year after Republicans took control of the lower chamber.
