The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture will offer free admission on Aug. 1. Free admission at both Riverside Art Museum and The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture 6-9 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month during the Riverside ArtsWalk,that celebrates arts and culture in Riverside and the Inland Empire.The Long Beach Municipal Band will perform free concerts Aug. 1 at Recration Park and Aug. 2 at El Dorado Park West.

Free concert on the Music Center plaza in downtown L.A. 7 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. Bring picnics, blankets and chairs. A DJ from KRCW will spin tunes, and then Grammy-winning Americana artist Gaby Moreno will perform. Paid parking. L.A. Music Center, 135 N Grand Ave. Los Angeles.Joshua Tree National Park, like all national parks, will offer free admission on Aug. 4 in honor of the anniversary of the signing of the Great American Outdoors Act. Free National Parks Day.

Sister Sledge will deliver disco hits of the ’70s starting at 8 p.m. on the Music Center Plaza in downtown L.A. You don’t need tickets, but RSVP in advance online. Also, note free dance lessons will be offered on the plaza on Aug. 16. You’ll have to pay to park. L.A. Music Center, 135 N Grand Ave. Los Angeles. All events at Wilson Park, 2200 Crenshaw Blvd. unless otherwise noted. Bring chairs, picnics and blankets. Aug. 4 Sangre Nueva Salsa Band. 5 p.m.; Aug. 10.

The museum is free every Sunday and always has interesting exhibits. Free docent-led tours are offered at 2 p.m. Sundays. Free advance tickets are recommended and can be booked online. Parking is free. 628 Alamitos Ave., Long Beach.The Autry Museum of the American West in Los Angeles is free every Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. The Autry is free every Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. but reservations are required and limited..
