Jamie Lee Curtis teases Freaky Friday 2 with a new image of her and former costar Lindsay Lohan. Released in 2003, Freaky Friday features Curtis and Lohan as a mother and daughter who switch bodies, forcing them to adapt to each other's unique lifestyles. The comedy, which is directed by Mark Waters, was a success at the box office, and both Curtis and Lohan have recently expressed interest in reprising their roles for a sequel.
In a recent post on Instagram, Curtis shares her hopes for Freaky Friday 2 with Lohan, saying she's got her "freaky fingers crossed." Lohan, who was the subject of headlines in the late-2000s due to her various drunk driving-related incidents and stints in rehab is also experiencing something of a comeback at the moment. Lohan continued to appear in smaller roles and films throughout the 2010s, but recently took center stage once more in Netflix's holiday romantic comedy, Falling For Christmas. The actor is next slated to appear in another romantic comedy movie called Irish Wish.
With both actors experiencing noticeable upswings in their careers and in terms of their general position in the public consciousness, now is really the perfect time for Freaky Friday 2. With both stars seemingly actively pushing for a sequel, it seems likely that it will actually happen sooner or later. It remains to be seen what Freaky Friday 2 would actually be about, but the follow-up film would almost certainly involve more body-swapping shenanigans.
