PARIS—Thousands of yellow-vest protesters were back on the streets on Saturday despite French President Emmanuel Macron’s pledge earlier this week to cut income tax and reform the country’s public sector.
Protesters clad in yellow vests, or gilets jaunes. marched through the streets of Paris, Strasbourg and other French cities carrying signs with messages that ranged from the French national motto, “Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité,” to “Anger!” Some wore the Phrygian cap from the French Revolution and chanted “Macron resign.”...
