One of the buyers, who is part of a deal to purchase three of the Four Sisters, is looking for the public’s help to keep the heritage homes in the community.
Francene Chadwick, who is originally from the province but now lives in North Carolina, is part of a group purchasing the three properties. When the properties went on the market, Chadwick and her friends decided they should come together to make sure the heritage homes stay in the community. In a video posted to Instagram, she says they’re now looking for the public to join them in their efforts. The group decided to start a heritage co-operative that would allow anyone to join. She says the ultimate goal is for the group to purchase other heritage properties and prevent them from deteriorating or being demolished by developers.
Chadwick says she has no interest in actually owning the properties and wants them to be something for the community.Funds raised will also be used for the remodeling process. She says the group of buyers have spent over $100,000 so far and need help from the public to continue with their plans for the heritage properties.
