Four individuals were discovered deceased in a home on the Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation in Saskatchewan. RCMP are investigating the deaths as suspicious and have asked the public to remain vigilant following reports of a man with a gun in a nearby community.

Four individuals have been discovered deceased within a residence located on a First Nation in southern Saskatchewan , as confirmed by the RCMP on Tuesday. Officers from the File Hills Police Service responded to a call early Tuesday morning regarding the home situated on the Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation, situated east of Regina.

Preliminary investigations have led authorities to classify the deaths as suspicious, however, the RCMP refrained from disclosing any specific details concerning a potential suspect. Four hours subsequent to the initial discovery, authorities received additional reports indicating a male individual brandishing a firearm at individuals on the Zagime Anishinabek, formerly known as the Sakimay First Nation, roughly 95 kilometers distant. While the connection between these two incidents remains uncertain, the public is urged to exercise heightened vigilance within the vicinity. The investigation is currently ongoing, and an amplified police presence is anticipated at Carry the Kettle. The RCMP has pledged to promptly inform the public of any imminent safety concerns. Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation Chief Scott Eashappie declined a formal interview but issued a statement on social media confirming a break-in and homicide on the northern expanse of the reserve. He implored community members to avoid the affected area and urged anyone possessing pertinent information to contact the authorities
