Our thoughts and prayers go out to Deborah's loved ones, as well as the other victims involved in yesterday's deadly shooting. May they rest in peace.
TPD has confirmed that four people were killed in this incident. One of the victims was Pima County Justice Precinct 8 Constable Deborah Martinez-Garibay, 43, appointed to the vacant position by the Board of Supervisors earlier this year in March.
Just watched the honors ceremony as Tucson Police officers escorted the constable’s body out if the Lind Commons Apartment Complex. Her name is Deborah Martinez-Garibay. She was killed in a shooting, along with three others. pic.twitter.com/LcrjGJXpZ6I’m heartbroken to learn the news that our Pima County Constable, Deborah Martinez, was killed while doing her job today. Deborah was a great public servant and notable advocate for veterans, may we honor her life and commitment to our community.
Officers say the shooting happened around 11:15 a.m. at the Lind Commons Apartments, 3493 E. Lind Rd. KGUN 9 has learned no arrests were made yet, and the original threat is diminished. TPD will release more information, including the names of the victims, once families have been notified.
