With only three berths available, what\u0027s the fix? The fourth ship sat at anchor in the harbour and passengers were ferried ashore
Those gazing out over the harbour on Sunday morning might have noticed that not only were all active berths full, there was another cruise ship anchored in the harbour waiting for its turn on shore.
“Usually, those extra ships will anchor during the day and move to berth later when those ships at berth depart,” said port spokesperson Arpen Rana. Smaller boats prepare to escort passengers of the Viking Orion as it sits at anchor in Burrard Inlet. The Canada Place cruise ship terminal was at capacity on Sunday.As Vancouver is a popular tourist destination for many passengers, some wanted to go ashore even though their ship was anchored offshore. Small boats are brought in to ferry them into the city.
