Along with the dismissal, Young said she was barred from the property, and personal belongings were delivered to her house in Charlottetown. “I didn’t kick a guy out the day before a hurricane because he used , and you know what, everything was closed down for two weeks. You have to have some compassion for people, and sometimes you have to make changes in the rules.”

Young’s chief complaint is about the process and way she was treated. She noted the provincial government paid for a human resources consultant in July to perform an audit of the organization. She said she only met the HR person the day she was let go.“It could have been done in a different manner, so I did get a lawyer. And so, my lawyer didn’t want me to go public about this, and that’s basically why I didn’t ,” she said. “But I didn’t feel right about keeping it all hush hush.

After speaking with Young on Jan. 6, SaltWire called and emailed Lennon House and received a statement on Jan. 19.
