District 24-4A champion Stafford faces 17-4A No. 3 seed Mexia at 1 p.m., Friday at Legacy Stadium, with the winner facing Salado or East Chambers for the Region III-4A crown and a trip to the state tournament. The Spartans are playing in their fourth regional semifinal since 2016. The Foster girls are back in the Region III-5A final four after a 2-0 win against Santa Fe. The District 24-5A champions outscored their first two postseason opponents 15-4.
