An investigation into the elder Devaney was already underway in June, according to the release, when his son told authorities he was distributing methamphetamine. Later that month, the deadly Burleson shooting occurred and surveillance footage linked Devaney Sr.’s vehicle to the incident.Devaney Sr. threw a bag in a nearby bush, which officers recovered and found more than a kilogram of meth and a “substantial amount” of cash inside, the release said. He also had a .40 caliber pistol on his waistband.
Litts had a plastic bag with 115 grams of meth inside it and a digital scale “concealed inside his clothing,” the release said.According to the release, Devaney, Jr. denied involvement with the shooting, but later told officers “obviously, there’s been drugs” and said his dad “just went off the deep end… and he started selling drugs,” and claimed his father “just kept sucking me in.”
