Fort Bend ISD's $1.26 billion bond proposal is its biggest ever, includes Clements High School rebuild

Fort Bend has more than 80,000 students and 12,000 staff members, according to the FBISD website. Since the previous bond in 2018, enrollment has increased by more than 4,400 students.

The bond would not affect any taxpayer who is over 65 years of age or has a disabled exemption on their home.

Proposition A, at approximately $1.18 billion, includes design and construction updates for seven schools, as well as technology, transportation, safety and security improvements for the district. The district plans to acquire 35 new school buses and build a transportation center.on the current school’s athletic fields. Clements’ foundation is sinking, FBISD said.

Proposition C would authorize spending $22.9 million for a natatorium on the southeast side of the district, an area that currently does not have a swim facility. The students in that section spend time and resources traveling to the district's other two swimming facilities, FBISD said.
