Annable owned the South Surrey Eagles junior A hockey team for seven years
The late Cliff Annable, a prominent member of both the South Surrey/White Rock business and sports communities, is being remembered as a tireless community booster.Annable, who was born in 1947 in Saskatchewan, was a enthusiastic volunteer who served executive roles with Semiahmoo Community Safety Society, the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, White Rock/South Surrey Community Foundation, South Surrey Field House Society, Kid Sport Surrey/White Rock and the Semiahmoo Rotary Club.
He also owned the South Surrey Eagles junior A hockey team for seven years . Under Annable’s watch, the Eagles were the class of the B.C. Hockey League winning a pair of league championships and the Royal Bank Cup national junior A championship in 1998. A case against Woods went to court, but assault charges were eventually stayed — although she later admitted to slapping Annable.
