Former Warriors executive Bob Myers to join ESPN’s NBA coverage for 2023-24 season
Myers’ hiring might be ESPN’s most notable offseason acquisition in the minds of Warriors fans, but it wasn’t the only major addition for the network, which also added longtime NBA coach and 2008 champion Doc Rivers to its lineup.
Rivers, who was fired as the Philadelphia 76ers head coach in May, will team with Hall of Fame broadcasters Doris Burke and Mike Breen to form the network’s lead commentator crew after former Warriors coach Mark Jackson and East Bay native Jeff Van Gundy were laid off this offseason. With longtime reporter Lisa Salters joining them on the sidelines, that trio will call the NBA Finals and Eastern Conference Finals as well as several other marquee games.
