Before accepting the U.S. job in October 2019, though, Andonovski was a successful NWSL coach with FC Kansas City and Seattle-based Reign FC. Andonovski guided KC to championships in 2013 and ’14 and was voted coach of the year in 2013 and ’19 . The Current, which lost to Portland in the 2022 NWSL final, had a 8-12-2 record this season and finished 11th in the 12-team league. Matt Potter was fired early in the year, replaced on an interim basis by Caroline Sjöblom.
