Former Michigan Governor withdraws from research fellowship at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government

. Earlier this year, the school rescinded an offer to whistleblower Chelsea Manning after criticism from then-CIA Director Mike Pompeo. Before that, the school received criticism after offering fellowships to President Donald Trump’s first press secretary Sean Spicer and former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.

His withdrawal also comes at a time when conservatives — as well as Trump and his administration — have railed against political intolerance on college campuses. Before his withdrawal, Snyder said in a statement released through the school that he was "excited to join the talented faculty and staff there who are on the leading edge in improving public policy, civic engagement, and innovations in state and local government. I look forward to sharing my experiences in helping take Michigan to national leadership in job creation, improved government performance, and civility.
