After eight years in the NFL, the Jaguars' former first-round quarterback is stepping away from the game.
“I didn’t tell anybody I retired. A couple of months ago, probably, just didn’t tell anyone. So, I guess you guys are kind of the first to hear it publicly, maybe?” Bortles told the PMT hosts.Bortles, 30, was originally drafted by the Jaguars with the third-overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft out of the University of Central Florida. He briefly played for four other teams in the league, including the Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos, Green Bay Pakcers and the New Orleans Saints.
Bortles posted his best season in 2015, throwing for 4,428 yards, 35 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. Shortly after Bortles announced his retirement, Jaguars fans took to social media to share their opinions of some of his best moments.
