Lights, camera, cuisine: Cleveland's acclaimed chef Jonathon Sawyer is set to spice up the competition on 'Guy's Grocery Games' with tantalizing flavors and culinary finesse.
Guy Fieri brings together eight of the most renowned chefs in the culinary world to compete in the Flavortown Market for the very first time on "Guy’s Grocery Games: All-Star Invitational."Kindling
Sawyer, who won a James Beard Award in 2015 as the chef at Greenhouse Tavern on East 4th St., faces some stiff competition. Fellow contestants include Karen Akunowicz, Nate Appleman, Jose Garces, Ilan Hall, Stephanie Izard, Mei Lin and Shota Nakajima. A rotating panel of judges determines the winner at the end of each episode. The last chef standing is crowned champion and takes home a top prize of up to $75,000 and the coveted trophy.
Besides Greenhouse Tavern, Sawyer also operated Trentina and Noodlecat during his time in Cleveland. Each restaurant has since closed and he moved back to his hometown of Chicago to open Adorn Restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel in 2021.
