A former patrolman with the Waynesboro Police Department has been charged with child pornography several months after an investigation began into possible misconduct.In January, Waynesboro Chief of Police James Sourbier was made aware of a possible act of misconduct committed by one of his officers, initiating an internal investigation. Once that was completed, Sourbier said that Rogers resigned from the department. He also said the criminal investigation was referred to the county DA’s office.
Rogers denied knowing the age of the 19-year-old man’s girlfriend, the affidavit said. He said that he deleted the photo and video from his phone two to three weeks before he was interviewed, the affidavit said.
