THUNDER BAY — Former Thunder Bay Border Cats infielder Billy Cook is headed to the Arizona Fall League.
Cook, who played for the Cats in 2017 and 2018, is one of 29 ex-Northwoods League players making the journey to the AFL. The 24-year-old was a 10th-round pick by the Baltimore Orioles, chosen 287th overall in the 2021 draft.The MLB-hopeful hit .287 in 93 games with the Border Cats, bashing five home runs and driving in 42. He also stole 18 bases.
