According to Victoria County District RCMP, police received a complaint on Nov. 16, 2021, from the Village of Baddeck concerning a possible fraud.Cooper worked with the municipality for several years in the tax office before moving on in 2019 to become an administrative assistant and, later, CAO with the Village of Baddeck. Reports surfaced last October that she had been fired by the Village but no one was willing to comment on the reasons for her dismissal.
Among the conditions of his release, Vokey is to refrain from alcohol and drugs not prescribed to him, he is to report twice a week by phone to police and is to remain under house arrest unless in the company of his surety.He also has a provincial court trial set for Jan. 5 on seven counts of breaching court orders, and single counts of uttering a threat and assault.A new provincial court trial date has now been scheduled for a Glace Bay man facing a charge of sexual assault.
