Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 24-year-old Texas native and former U.S. Army soldier, drove an F-150 into a crowd on Bourbon Street in New Orleans on Wednesday, injuring at least two people before being fatally shot by police. An Islamic State flag was found on the truck used in the attack. Authorities are investigating Jabbar's motivations, but recent social media posts suggest he may have aligned himself with IS.
Jabbar had been experiencing financial difficulties and a third divorce in 2022, but family members say they saw no signs of radicalization in his behavior prior to the attack
