Former Alabama football coach Gene Stallings has 'a little setback.'

Only Stallings, the former Alabama coach, would downplay the severity of a third stroke.“I’m fine to tell you the truth,” Stallings told me by phone on a golf cart riding around his Paris, Texas, property. “I did have a little setback, but it’s no big deal.”

He said he had the stroke a “couple of weeks ago,” but “I don’t remember anything about it to tell you the truth. I appreciate you checking, though, I really do.” Stallings confirmed he tested positive for COVID around the same time but didn’t know if the two were related.The 87-year old Stallings suffered two strokes and a heart attack in 2017.on his way to a weekend book signing in Dallas to visit with his Alabama Crimson Tide coach.Williams posted video of their visit on social mediaIn October of 2017, Stallings was on a ventilator for two days after suffering a heart attack.
